Personal:

Former cross country and track runner at Desert Hills High School. Happily married to my wonderful husband Trevor. I’ve overcome cancer twice, and I’m just trying to get back in to running shape again since finishing my treatments. Also studying digital design at DSU.

First day back running after the break. Had to work so I ran at 4 in the afternoon, it was a really hot day. I ended up walking quite a bit, but I'll do better tomorrow. Just ran to some dirt trails by my house, but it was all flat.

Work again, can't wait until I finally get to go run with the team! Went over to the trails by the school so I could have the same run as everyone else. Hot again, ran at about 3. Remembered to take water with me today. It was a slower pace, but I ran the whole time and it wasn't flat like yesterday which was fun.

Finally got to go run with my team! I pushed myself to run with the faster girls today, and did pretty well until the half way point.  I think just my mind is my problem, so work on that and I think I can really run with them. Great run, I felt really good when I stuck with them.

Ran around 5:30 in the morning with Courtney and Tanner before Youth Conference today. They started out pretty fast, under an 8 minute pace so I slowed down and trailed behind them for the run. Went up the airport hill, so a little hilly put mostly flat. Felt really good again today.

I haven't been able to find too much time to run the last couple of days being on vacation with family. Only got a mile in on the treadmill at our hotel. Ran about a 6:30 with incline. Knee started to hurt a little bit though.  Would've done more but we were getting ready to go back over to Disneyland. At least I got a lot of walking in, but I wanted to run more.

Got home last night from vacation so I was able to go to practice today. Kept it easy, still recovering from flu. Ran about 30 minutes on the trails then about 15-20 minutes on the track. Felt good today, but my head hurt a little and still tired from flu.

Had a hard day running today. I thought running in the afternoons would help me more than getting up earlier to run, but it's not working too much. Ran/walked around 3:00 in the afternoon over by the Thatcher's. About a 100 degrees out. Only went 3 miles, cut it early because I wasn't having a good day. Went running about 9:30 that night for another 2.5 miles. A little over 90 degrees, but no sun so that was nice. Wanted to go more but I don't like running alone at night. That run was a lot better, went about a 10 minutes pace for the 2 miles then dropped down to an 8:30 for the last half. Can tell I'm still sick though because I finished kind of light headed. Mostly flat tonight and part trail part road.

Able to go to practice today and run 90 minutes on the Navajo Trail. Stayed with the group for the first 25 minutes then slowed down. Still having a hard time breathing. Dropped my pace a lot, but I kept running the rest of the way. About the last 20-30 minutes I picked up my pace a little then the last mile a little more. Felt ok, but my head still hurt.

Ran trails by the Thatcher's at 5:30 this morning. Felt really good but it was a slow run. Need to pick it up more. Went about 55 minutes. Finished then did some of the exercises with the team, stretched then went to work.

Ran with Alexis tonight around 8:00. Mostly flat trail by our house, but about 2 miles of road to get to and from them. A lot better run today, about 10:00 to 10:30 miles. Still not the best speed but getting back up there. Had some fun running the bunny hills before running to the top of the new airport hill, but my knee was bothering me a little. Taking care of it though. The last 1/2 mile we picked it up to an 8:45 pace that felt good too. I finally feel like I'm not so sick anymore. I got a running pack and that was helpful too. It wasn't too hot but good to have now. All in all it was a good run today.
