Personal:
Former cross country and track runner at Desert Hills High School. Happily married to my wonderful husband Trevor. I’ve overcome cancer twice, and I’m just trying to get back in to running shape again since finishing my treatments. Also studying digital design at DSU.
Morning practice with the team. Did the ladder workout, 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 2:2, 1:1. I did fine on the fast parts, but lost the group on the easy parts, need to work on that. Felt like a good workout today.
Ran 3 miles this evening but kept them at a faster pace. First mile to Little Valley park (road) at an 8:30 pace, second mile barefoot on the grass at 7:50 pace then third back home (road) at an 8:15 pace. It felt really good to just go out and run. Made a goal to stay under 9:00 min miles for today, so pretty happy. Finally feel like my runs are turning for the better this summer.
